Background and Experience

Since April 1991 I commenced a full time private consultancy service in the field of document examination.

From August 1989 to March 1991 I was the Officer in Charge of the Queensland Police Service, Document Examination Section.

I have carried out many examinations for many clients. Some are listed below:

  • Police Departments of both Queensland and the Northern Territory
  • Other State and Federal Government Departments
  • Lending Institutions (Banks, Building Societies etc)
  • Many private firms and companies (Solicitors etc)

These have involved many thousands of documents and over 3000 separate investigations.

I am a member of the Australasian Society of Forensic Document Examiners Inc.

Numerous papers on areas of document examination have been prepared and presented by me for conference, workshop and lecture purposes, involving the Queensland Police Service, the Office of the Commonwealth Director of Public Prosecutions, the Australian Government Solicitors Office, the Office of the Director of State Public Prosecutions, Work Cover Queensland and other Government departments.

I have given evidence, relating to document examination matters in the Supreme, District and Magistrates Courts of Queensland, a number of Commissions of Inquiry [Cooke Commission of Inquiry & Shepherd Commission of Inquiry] and courts of the Northern Territory on over 560 occasions.

I have also undertaken matters in New Zealand, Fiji and Singapore.
